Friday Eye Candy
February 26I’m obsessed with Resa Blatman’s cut-edge paintings.
::
Remember the tub post? Well we should no longer be draining our tub through a trash bag to the downstairs shower as of next week and I’m oh-so-excited! Have a great weekend.

Paper Artist Wednesday
February 24

Elephantine posted about Dani Press the other day and I fell in love with the cards and the stories.
“i had mentioned in passing a few times how i wanted to make my own cards. i thought i’d be good at it. i wanted to make greeting cards so people would give them to people that needed to feel loved.”

Unwritten Letters
February 23
The project isn’t too terribly new, but I don’t think I’ve blogged about it. I’m a sucker for letter and I have to tell you- there’s been a bunch of time I wanted to write a letter but didn’t. The Unwritten Letters Project is the perfect answer:
“Inspiration:: After participating in a Family Communication class and watching the movie, “The Land of Women,” I was inspired. I wondered how many letters people have written and not sent or wanted to write and never did. To whom would they write these letters and why were they never sent? I wanted everyone to have the chance to send the letter and have their thoughts read; even if they’re not read by the original person they are addressed to.”

New Site!
February 22
So, my new website is finished! Thanks to Luther at Cajun Solutions (a great guy, and friend) who really helped me put this entire vision to life. While having a little bit of web knowledge, I am no programmer! (HTML makes my brain freak out like calculus class.) Luther worked through it with me even when I was nit-picking with serious grace…
So go check it out and seriously tell me what you think! I am a firm believer in constructive criticism- so lay it on.

Yours Ever – Book Giveaway
February 11It was incredibly kind of Random House to send me a copy of “Yours Ever” for my lovely readers. I read a chapter or two yesterday after receiving it and fell in love. The part in the introduction about how the blog “hovers between half diary, half letter-to-the-world” really made me smile.
Good news! This book is for you because you share my passion for reading and that oh-so-satisfying means of communication- the handwritten note.
“Yours Ever explores the offhand masterpieces dispatched through the ages by messenger, postal service, and BlackBerry. Thomas Mallon weaves a remarkable assortment of epistolary riches into his own insightful and eloquent commentary on the circumstances and characters of the world’s most intriguing letter writers. Here are Madame de Sévigné’s devastatingly sharp reports from the court of Louis XIV, F. Scott Fitzgerald’s tormented advice to his young daughter, the besotted midlife billets-doux of a suddenly rejuvenated Woodrow Wilson, the casually brilliant spiritual musings of Flannery O’Connor, the lustful boastings of Lord Byron, the cries from prison of Sacco and Vanzetti. Along with the confessions and complaints and revelations sent from battlefields, frontier cabins, and luxury liners, a reader will find Mallon considering travel bulletins, suicide notes, fan letters, and hate mail–forms as varied as the human experiences behind them.
Yours Ever is an exuberant reintroduction to a vast and entertaining literature–a book that will help to revive, in the digital age, this glorious lost art.”
Leave a comment on this post by February 18th to be entered and random.org will pick a winner next Friday, the 19th. (If you aren’t a registered user, please include your email so I can contact you if you win.)
P.S. Being a sucker for paper and the like, I must mention this book has beautifully deckled edges.

Walking On Air
February 11
Paper Schmaper was nominated on The Lovelies in the paper goods category. It is so encouraging to hear that on top of the fact that my Etsy shop has been doing SO much better than last year (I let it go for awhile to work on Pearl). Cindy hit the nail on the head – “it really is a pleasure just to be nominated”. Thanks to Rachel for putting The Lovelies together.
It’d be super sweet if you’d pop over and give the shop a vote.
::::
Also, my “happiness is” project and card was featured in the most recent issue of The Other Herald.
::::
I haven’t forgotten you Rachel – (Elephantine) or Cindy – (Quaint Handmade) for the lovely awards, I’m just planning my words…
Thanks for all the love, it means a lot!

Friday Eye Candy
February 5We’ve had a serious bathroom meltdown this week at home. Right now the tub drain is being guided down to the drain in the shower in our lower level by a trash bag… Yes- it’s that ridiculous. Rust isn’t cast iron’s best friend. So this week, I’m dreaming about taking a bath in some super fancy tub.
Have a great weekend!
