3D Paper Cartography
February 20Geografia has some pretty amazing products over on Fab today. I love everything about the work they do… Craftiness, printing, science and geography all rolled into one.

Optimism
February 16“The essence of optimism is that it takes no account of the present, but it is a source of inspiration, of vitality and hope where others have resigned; it enables a man to hold his head high, to claim the future for himself and not to abandon it to his enemy.” -Dietrich Bonhoeffer
I bookmarked a post from Eating is Art a few weeks ago and feel I must share a small bit of it with you.
“To cultivate more optimism in my life, I try to do very small things that can reap huge rewards. A few times throughout the day I’ll stop what I’m doing and sit silently. It’s like a small check-in with how I’m feeling, where I am, and what my thoughts are thinking. I notice and then proceed. If I was thinking something really negative, I may laugh out loud at myself to break the hold negative thinking can have. Or I might say the word “hope” or “intention” in my mind to break the downward spiral. Then, I let it go. This is hard, so it helps me to visualize the negative thought literally being enveloped by a balloon or a bubble and floating away. Sometimes I even imagine myself waving at it. Buh-bye!”
I’m trying to practice this daily. Her post was really inspiring. Read it here.
{Isn’t that glass great?!}

Happy Heart Day
February 14

Too beautiful not to repost from Strictly Paper today. Have a lovely day, whatever you do. I’ll be dining on fries and a milkshake, maybe curling up with Downton Abbey.

Fresh Start
February 12
It’s finally here. My new identity. What do you think?
Designing for yourself when you’re a designer has to be one of the worst processes. Every time you feel like you might have it, you change it. This is why I don’t do much design for Paper Schmaper. I don’t have a real logo, and never really had a uniformed look. Well, a giant thank you goes out to Andrew Dellamano for his help turning my “thoughts” into a functioning site. This entire site is his doing. (he’s available for freelance, so contact him if you’d like something new!)
So long blogger, hello wordpress. So far, I really like wordpress and think I’ll be updating the portfolio section more. Speaking of the portfolio, there are a few new pieces to check out. Not that many since Paper Schmaper was on hold during the majority of 2011, but it’s going to be a good 2012 for us.
I want to hear your thoughts. Be honest. Tell me if I have a typo, tell me what you think of my work. The links on the right were just imported over. I’ll update them soon. Promise!
New business cards are next. The plates are made, the paper is cut, it’s just a matter of time.
{By the way, if you subscribe to my feed. Did it switch for you? Are you getting this?}
